Work experience requirements: In order to be qualified in this program, the applicant must have at least one-year full time work experience and the work must fall under the skill/level 0, A, B or C of the National Occupation Classification within the last three years. The hours are also counted for part-time work, but the hours should be in one occupation. The hours can be collected from different employers. 

These working hours can be inside or outside Canada but the hours must be accumulated over a period of at least 12 months. Self employed hours are not counted in this case. 

Under this stream, the applicant has two options to choose. If the applicant has work experience in the NOC skill level C, she meets the eligibility of the application. 

Or if the applicant is a health professional having a year experience in skill level NOC 0 A, B or C including the home support worker is eligible to apply. 

Education Requirements 

  • a Canadian secondary (high school) or post-secondary certificate, diploma or degree from a recognized institution

  • a foreign degree, diploma, or certificate equal to a Canadian credential. You need an educational credential assessment (ECA) report from a recognized organization to show your credential is valid and equal to a Canadian credential. If you already have an ECA report, it must be less than 5 years old when we receive your permanent resident application.

Language ability 

There is a minimum language requirement of CLB 4 in either of the official languages of Canada. The language tests are valid for 2 years only and show that the level of program required is fulfilled. 

Proof of Funds 

You must show that you have enough money to support yourself and your family after you get to Canada unless you are working in Canada under a valid work permit.

The table shows how much money is needed as a proof of funds. This money should not be borrowed and can be spent when you are settling in Canada.

Job offer requirements

In order to be eligible to apply for permanent resident, the applicant must have a valid job offer and the job offer is made using the specified form. 

The job offer should be made by the designated employer that is taking part in the Atlantic Immigration Pilot Project where the applicant might be working. 

The employer must have the confirmation of designation by the province 

The job offer should be full time and permanent and non seasonal for at least one year. 

The job will be in the skill level/type 0, A or B and C in the National Occupation Classification and must meet the employment requirement of the job offered.
