  • International Experience Canada (IEC)

The International Experience Canada (IEC) program allows foreign nationals aged 18-35 (depending on the country) to work and travel in Canada for up to two years. There are three categories under the IEC program: Working Holiday, Young Professionals, and International Co-op. Each category has its own eligibility requirements and application process. The International Experience Canada (IEC) program is a great opportunity for young people to gain valuable international work experience and explore Canada's beautiful cities and natural landscapes.

Here are some additional details about each of the three categories under the IEC program:

  • Working Holiday: This category is open to young adults from over 30 countries who want to work and travel in Canada for up to two years. Participants must have a valid passport from their home country and meet other eligibility requirements, such as having sufficient funds to support themselves during their stay and not having a criminal record. The application process involves creating an online profile, entering a pool of candidates, and being invited to apply for a work permit if selected.
  • Young Professionals: This category is for foreign nationals who have a job offer in Canada in a skilled occupation. Participants can work for one employer in Canada for up to two years. To be eligible, applicants must have a valid job offer, meet language requirements, and have sufficient funds to support themselves during their stay. The application process involves applying for a work permit directly, rather than entering a pool of candidates.
  • International Co-op: This category is for foreign students who are enrolled in a post-secondary institution outside of Canada and want to complete a work placement or internship in Canada as part of their studies. Participants can work in Canada for up to 12 months. To be eligible, applicants must have a valid job offer, be registered as a student in their home country, and have sufficient funds to support themselves during their stay. The application process involves applying for a work permit directly, rather than entering a pool of candidates.
