Temporary work permit: Atlantic Program
Who can apply? If you are eligible for the application for the permanent resident under the Atlantic Immigration Pilot Project and the employer wants you to start the job immediately, you are eligible to apply for the temporary work permit. Applicants living in Canada should have a paper-based application and the applicants living outside Canada can apply online. The work permit is a LMIA exempt.
These are the minimum requirements for the application of temporary work permit.
have a job offer from a designated employer in an Atlantic Province;
have a job offer that is full-time and not seasonal;
have an offer of employment number (LMIA-exemption number) provided to you by your employer;
commit to apply for permanent residence within 90 days of submitting your work permit application;
provide a copy of an approved language test;
show that you meet the education requirements;
show that you have qualifying work experience, if you’re eligible to apply for the Atlantic Intermediate-Skilled Program or the Atlantic High-Skilled Program; and
meet all other requirements to apply for a work permit.
Must have a referral letter from the Atlantic province
If you got the work permit, the validity of work permit will be for one year.
